Foremost, happy new year everyone. My name is Austin, and I’m new to the foreverU Blogging and Writing team. I’ve been updating a botanical blog since early November, so I figured that I would see if I could write articles for ForeverU. This first article is a bit of exception, however, as I feel that a quick “who I am” article might be helpful since I’m new around these parts.
Foremost, I’m a senior at East; planning on majoring in botany (this includes environmental sciences and/or general biological sciences). I have been an avid runner, participating in Cross Country competitively since ’05. I became a frequently attending Pi Sigma Pi during 2013, partly because Mr. Cupp makes the club a bunch of fun. I’m in FBLA as well, although I don’t feel like I make as big of a splash since so many people have joinedL.
Outside of everything school-related, I unfortunately don’t do a ton. School eats up most of my time, so all my free time is devoted towards hanging out with friends, playing games at home, and doing research for my primary blog. I’m happy with what I do, nevertheless. I might work more than I want to, but I get a lot of satisfaction from doing well in school, running, and with journaling.
As for how I learned about foreverU, I heard about it during an FBLA competition during last year (in spring I think). I have been meaning to do it, but I had trouble motivating myself before this. I was really inspired by the overall goal Ryan had set up, and I felt that I could at least throw my two cents towards the cause. I hope my blogs can inspire the lives of many!
